An Illusion in a Cafe (2017)
An Illusion in a Cafe is the solo I choreographed for my composition I final exam. I drew my inspiration from my interest in daydreams in cafe's that occurred during my time in Paris in my senior spring break trip. Inspiration was also drawn from french artist Carla Bruni and her album Quelqu'un m'a dit. Movement inspiration came from my improvisational practice and work with filming and recreation of spontaneous movement. This piece can be viewed on my YouTube channel where I performed in front of my classmates. There is also more in depth information about my process more in depth in my blog. The work shown to the left is one of many improvisational sessions where I drew movement from.
